Signs of Summer

I never thought Summer would arrive, but it has- and it is spectacular. There is hardly a patch of land in our neighborhood that isn't covered in foxglove- fields and fields of foxglove. It's so beautiful. Because we've been doing so much soil moving- we don't have the fields some of our neighbors do, but it's coming up in patches that have been left undisturbed. Here are some random pictures from early summertime...

Last night we had the kitchen door open and Mr. Stellar Jay came to our post and looked in. I gave him some nuts and he was one happy bird! This is a close up of some of my deck flowers...

Foxglove in patches around the yard. I hope to get some pictures of the foxglove meadows too!

The salmonberries are ripe and deliciously tart. They range in color from dark red to orange- all ripe.. just a color variation. It makes a beautiful display.

I emptied out the peanut butter yesterday and Summit wanted to know if he could have the jar. I couldn't say no. This was the first time he ever got this kind of treat! He was good with holding the jar with his opposing thumb.
