It was the kind of day we'll cherish for a LONG time... good friends, gorgeous little lake, huge waterfall, warm comfy weather, few bugs and a perfect hike through the the woods. A wonderful summer day to think about long into the snowy winter...
Oh man, Donna... it's absolutely AWESOME! It's 5 miles in (10 round trip)- and fairly level and flat (650 feet of elevation gain). It's located in the Middle Fork Valley. Take Exit 34 on Interstate 90 Eastbound, drive under the freeway (heading north) and pass Seattle East Restaurant (also known as Ken's Truck Stop), turn right on Southeast Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Road (No. 56). Drive 12 miles until the road deadends after the campground. Follow the well-beaten trail (used to be a road) up the creek and at 4.5 miles you'll see some cairns (yes, someone has actually written the word "cairn" on the rocks") and turn off the main road to the forested trail (you can see the falls, so you'll know you're close). It's a beautiful destination for sure! It's called Otter Falls/Lipsy Lake. The only kicker is that there are a lot of blow-downs (tree) across the trail making for some interesting acrobatics...but nothing that is hindering. Keep me posted if you go!! Hugs.

Wow, where is that at? How long is the hike. Di, Deanna and I are going hiking up there when I visit so that might be a good one.
