What a joy to have such nice weather for the beginning of Fall! The mid-week day off was a nice bonus (I have to work this weekend), so I took advantage of the sunshine and headed to the hills.
It was one of those days I'll always remember. The blueberries were ripe, and I munched my way up the hills. You could smell the sweetness of the berries from the acres and acres of ripe, wild berries. Amazing how...if I tried my hardest, I couldn't begin to grow the garden nature has created up there. Additionally, I was feeling so peaceful, relaxed and unhurried. Any errands on my list were set aside today both mentally and physically- to give myself the ultimate gift- a perfect day. Before you roll your eyes at my Hallmark Card description, imagine my zen... perfect weather, gorgeous colors, no hurries, just Summit and I, as much time as I wanted to do as I pleased and drink all the richness of the beautiful Granite Mountain hike. It will stay fresh in my mind as winter sets in. The forecast is looking like the PNW Fall is on it's way in 2 days. While I don't mind the storms, I have to say that today was just simply...bliss. As usual, I created a movie of pictures (remember to watch in high quality)- enjoy!
