We finally got some wonderful Summer-like weather here in the PNW! Vil had to run to the mailbox, and I looked outside to see this.. he decided to take Summit for a ride in the Roadster! Summit had never ridden in it before and wasn't quite sure what to think. He loved the fresh air, but his paws kept slipping on the mat Vil put on the seat. Anyway, I thought it was so cute. Here are some pictures.
Later on, we headed out to hike the 10.5 miles across Rattlesnake Mountain- the ridge behind our house. There is a trail that leads from west North Bend all the way over to Rattlesnake Lake. The weather could not have been better- a high of 80 and a nice cool breeze. We had imagined we'd run into snow... but not that much snow!
Trillium in bloom- so beautiful!
We finally turned back as the snow was really deep, the trudging was hard and we had heard that route finding was difficult up higher. This was one of the ravines looking down toward the town. Maybe we'll try it again... in August after many more sunny days like these.
