This week I was off hiking in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Indian Heaven Wilderness. The photos and stories of my adventures this week are many, and I'm just starting to go through my photos, so stay tuned! I visited so many interesting places, saw a bear for the first time down there, spooked an elk (twice), met countless frogs and toads, spent some time watching Cedar Waxwings and hiked over 40 miles in a few days, covering lots of turf.
While I was out hiking this week, the trail cam was busy at work, capturing everything from Vil to bears. V knew he was being photographed so he gave me a couple of choice funny photos, which, for his sake, I won't post, but I laughed my head off when I saw the images on the card. Last night, a bear came through while we were out at dinner. At first, I didn't think there was anything on the camera (possibly a misfire), but V looked at it and says "lighten it up and look in the right-hand corner". Sure enough!

| You never know WHAT might show up! |
 |
| Whenever I see this doe, I know her little spotted baby isn't far behind. |
 |
| 12 seconds later, the fawn trails behind mama. |
 |
We've been getting a lot of bucks using the trail- regal this time of year!
Hope they stick around here through hunting season,
since it's not permitted on our turf. |

The 1st bear caught on camera.
He was just wandering through at 10:30 in the morning on Friday. |
 |
2.5 hours later, another much larger bear came lumbering along.
I might add, this trail is visible from our deck. |
 |
| Bambi and mama, this time the fawn leads the way. |
 |
| Look to the right- see the bear? This was taken last night when we were at dinner. |

Where do I get one of those guys in photo #1 who knows how to haul stuff in wheelbarrows? Maybe you'll see Bigfoot on there too!:)
The first picture of the bear is cute. He seems to be sniffing something.:)
