A sad event.

Pheonix the eagle chick has died. This day was supposed to be the day he was going to fledge- on my birthday, but instead he flew to a higher place of peace. He was a beautiful creature and his death was not in vain- I learned so much and have so much respect for the magnificent creatures. The necropsy will show the cause of his death, but all we know is that he struggled with stumbling and breathing the last few hours of his life. It was very sudden and very shocking. This probably happens often in nature- survival of the fittest, but now modern technology has allowed us windows to learn, laugh, enjoy and occasionally grieve. He was a gorgeous little bird and we watched him grow to almost a full fledgeling. Rest in peace big boy.
